How can we help children maximize their full learning potential?

How can my child build attention skills by "working out" on a home pc?
Attention is a skill that can be learned. Computer software is now available that trains children to increase attention stamina and reduce distractibility. It's like going to a gym and consistently gaining strength, endurance, balance and flexibility. When children regularly do their brain fitness exercises, they gradually strengthen attention and other cognitive skills.
What do you mean by cognitive skills?

How does cognitive training work?
Your child's brain needs novel and enriched environments to work at its best. Using the computer's immediate feedback, children repeat exercises and gradually improve cognitive abilities. The computer automatically adjusts difficulty based on performance and gives you and your child a report at the end of every session. Goals are set. Results are achieved. Higher goals are set, resulting in new levels of accomplishment.
Is there a scientific principle that explains how cognitive training works?
Yes. Scientific research shows that the brain is adaptable and capable of learning throughout life. The brain is highly dynamic and contains many systems and pathways that are constantly reorganizing themselves. This is called "neuroplasticity." What results can my child get from cognitive training?

For instance, the National Institute of Health issued the following statement: "Cognitive exercises, including computer-assisted strategies, have been used to improve specific neuropsychological processes, predominantly attention, memory, and executive skills. Both randomized controlled studies and case reports have documented the success of these interventions using intermediate outcome measures. Certain studies using global outcome measures also support the use of computer-assisted exercises in cognitive rehabilitation."
How are your games better and different from other video games?
Most commercial video games use highly over-stimulating sounds and graphics. But children with a short attention span get distracted when they have to interact in ordinary situations. It is a series of questionnaires and rating scales about your child that you and your child's teacher fill out. This gives us information about attention skills and the many ways your child is smart. The Cognitive Fitness Evaluation generates a wealth of data to determine your child's preferred ways of learning and optimal brain fitness program.
